Tony Danza began his career with boxing. He boasts an impressive record with nine wins and three losses during his brief stint. Tony scored a total of nine knockouts with three being technical knockouts. He competed in the middleweight division from 1976 to 1979. All of his matches ended in a knockout, except for one fight.
While he was doing what he was best at, i.e. boxing, Tony was discovered by a producer at a boxing gymnasium in New York. He was offered to audition for the TV show ‘Taxi’. His impressive audition got him the role of full-time cab driver and part-time boxer in the show.
