Shepherd was born to LaVerne and Lawrence A. Shepherd. Sherri along with her two sisters were raised in Chicago, Illinois. Sherri was quite passionate about venturing into the entertainment industry from the beginning. While she was working as a legal secretary in Beverly Hills, she got into stand-up comedy.
